Mujo seppo (無情説法) The Dharma Expounding of Insentient Beings, is a teaching given not by a human, but by all non-sentient, inanimate things: trees, rocks, flowers, sea, mountains, a single blade of grass. The word mujo means non-emotional and Seppo, means preaching Dharma. Master Dōgen insisted that anything that is non-emotional can teach us this wordless sermon.
