Tide Pools - tide or rock pools are filled with sea water during high tide and come to existence as separate pools at low tide. These small lakes have an environment that is continually changing, including variations in water temperature, salinity, and oxygen concentration.

I’ve been photographing the same place for over a year now. I plan my trips to the beach accordingly to a low tide schedule which allows me to capture these tender bodies of water. They come into being and dissolve. They are changeable, mutable, constantly transforming. They are a reminder of a Buddhist philosophical concept of impermanence (annica); everything arises and passes away. The only constant is change.
